Arcturus Lion City 1R
Arcturus Watches was founded in Singapore on a single conviction: that well-designed, top-quality timepieces should be accessible to everyone. For the Lion City 1R reissue I was commissioned to design the dial face for the LC1R range, launched mid-2025.
The brief called for a design honouring the brand's Art Deco heritage and Singapore identity while pushing the visual language of the previous issue forward. The resulting dial drew on the iconography of the Singapore flag, namely the iconic crescent moon and five stars symbolising a young nation on the ascendant.
Three colourway variants were produced: Carnelian, Verdite and Pietersite, each using semi-precious stone and carefully considered to read as both a luxury object and a distinctly Singaporean artefact.
